Ankara Esenboğa hosts Airport Innovation Days
The Airport Innovation Days lit up Ankara Esenboğa Airport as 15 inspiring startups showcased groundbreaking ideas in three categories in line with our Pioneers 2025 strategy -Green Airport, Airport Operations, and Passenger Experience.
Following a day filled with inspiring presentations, three winners are selected. The jury included TAV Airports Executive Board Member Franck Mereyde, CHRO Hakan Öker, CIO and TAV Technologies CEO Kerem Öztürk, CCO and TAV Operation Services CEO Aude Ferrand, Esenboğa Airport General Manager Nuray Demirer, Bilkent University Acting Dean Prof. Dr. Yasemin Afacan, and French Tech Board Member Murat Peksavaş.

These talented teams now advance to present their projects in Paris on December 4! Serkan Kaptan opens RAF as Riga Airport celebrates 50th anniversary
The Riga Aviation Forum gathered high-level industry leaders from across the Baltic region in the Latvian capital. TAV Airports CEO Serkan Kaptan delivered a keynote speech, highlighting the latest trends in European aviation, while Havaş CEO Mete Erna took part in a panel discussion on ground handling.
TAV Airports has been managing the commercial areas at Riga Airport since 2011, with its subsidiaries ATÜ Duty-Free, TAV OS, BTA, TAV Technologies and Havaş.
This year also marks the 50th anniversary of Riga Airport, a milestone celebrated at the forum.

TAV Airports, Havaş, and TAV Security at İstanbul Airshow
TAV Airports, Havaş and TAV Security participated in the İstanbul Airshow, which was inaugurated at İstanbul Atatürk Airport Terminal C with the attendance of the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu. The event, brought together key aviation stakeholders, including DHMİ, SHGM, Turkish Airlines, and many industry professionals from both Türkiye and abroad.

TAV Airports management visits Bolluca Operations Center
TAV Airports' top management team, including CEO Serkan Kaptan, Executive Board Member & Chair of the Executive Committee Franck Mereyde, Human Resources Group President Hakan Öker, HAVAŞ General Manager Mete Erna, TAV Operation Services CEO and TAV Airports CCO Aude Ferrand, ATÜ Duty Free CEO Ersan Arcan, CEO Office and Business Development Director Giray Çolpan, Airports Director Candemir Akyıldız, and Legal Director Ceyda Akbal Öztarhan, visited the TAV Security Bolluca Operations Center. The visit included an overview of the operations and K9 training activities at the facility.
The Bolluca Operations Center houses teams that handle aircraft security coordination and provides a training center for K9 dogs and their handlers. It also serves as the Alarm Monitoring Center, combining electronic and integrated security operations. The K9 training facilities are regularly updated to offer better training options.
With plans to grow R&D in electronic and integrated security, Bolluca is set to become a larger security management hub. In addition, TAV Academy offers specialized security training in classrooms located at the center.

TAV Airports at Routes World 2024
TAV Airports took part in Routes World 2024, the world's largest event focused on route development, held in Bahrain. The event gathered over 250 airlines and more than 2,300 key decision-makers from the aviation industry. Bringing together major players from airlines and airports, the event aimed to enhance and strengthen global connectivity. Groupe ADP and TAV Airports teams showcased their expansive network, creating new connections and further progressing towards Pioneers 2025 targets.

TAV Technologies digitizes Lanseria Airport
TAV Technologies successfully deployed advanced Airport Operations and Passenger Processing Systems at Lanseria International Airport in Johannesburg. The implementation includes the Travel Document Authorization System, Common Use Passenger Processing, Baggage Reconciliation, Flight Information Display, and Total Airport Management Suite, significantly enhancing efficiency and operations at the airport. Situated to the northwest of Johannesburg, Lanseria Airport is known as the place where Nelson Mandela landed when he was released from prison in 1990.

ACI LAC visit TAV Technologies and Antalya Airport
TAV Technologies and Antalya Airport, in collaboration with Airports Council International – Latin America and the Caribbean (ACI LAC), welcomed senior executives from leading Latin American and Caribbean airports. The events highlighted developments in aviation technology and digital solutions aimed at enhancing global airport operations. The delegation visited Turkish Ground Services (TGS) in Istanbul and Antalya Airport to review TAV Technologies’ innovative solutions, including the “Ground Handling Suite” within airport operational systems, as well as Antalya Airport’s ongoing expansion and sustainability efforts, with the goal of strengthening cooperation among industry leaders.

ATU Duty Free introduces self-checkout at Bodrum and Riga
ATU Duty Free has introduced a new self-checkout payment system at its stores in Bodrum and Riga Airports, offering customers a faster and more convenient shopping experience. Each store now features two self-checkout points equipped with cutting-edge technology, allowing for quick boarding pass/passport scanning, packaging, and credit card payment. This system is set to expand to other ATU Duty Free stores in Turkey and abroad in the near future.

Best Workplace for Women 2024: TAV OS recognized in Oman and Saudi Arabia
TAV OS Oman and Saudi Arabia operations are recognized among the Best Workplaces for Women 2024 by the Great Place to Work in the GCC region. Since 2020, TAV OS has increased the representation of women in its workforce from 24% to 44% at these locations, demonstrating its commitment to gender equality.

Sustainable Business Award to Izmir PC Lounge
Izmir Primeclass Lounge was awarded in the Waste Management category of the Sustainable Business Awards for its Micro Waste Management Project, developed in collaboration with Wastespresso—a waste management company that upcycles used coffee grounds to reduce plastic usage.
The project was launched in Izmir in June 2023. To date, approximately 2077 kg of coffee waste has been recycled in Izmir alone, preventing an estimated 2142 kg of CO2e emissions from being released into the atmosphere. This environmental impact is equivalent to the carbon footprint of:
907 litres of petrol consumption
1066 kg of coal usage
4696 kWh of electricity consumption
Moreover, a reduction of 2142 kg CO2e is comparable to the carbon offset achieved by converting 8695 m² of land into forest.

Golf enthusiasts gather at the 9th TAV Passport Bodrum Golf Tournament
Hosted by the Bodrum Tennis and Golf Club, the weekend featured numerous activities, including VR experiences and golf lessons. Following the first day's competitions, golf lovers participated in an outdoor event, and the tournament concluded on the second day with an awards ceremony hosted by TAV Passport and a special closing event that offered guests a feast of gastronomy and music.

Macedonian teams support local shelter
On World Homelessness Day, TAV Airports donated meals to the Red Cross’ Momin Potok Shelter. This initiative, backed by volunteers from Skopje Airport and BTA Macedonia, aims to provide compassion and dignity to those facing homelessness.

TAV Georgia reviews 2024 summer season projects
Tea Zakaradze, General Manager of TAV Georgia, held a joint meeting with airline representatives, Border Police, Aviation Security, and the Revenue Service to review the 2024 summer navigation season. Key projects discussed included Fast Track services, E-Gates, and the renovation of the Primeclass Lounge, all aimed at increasing capacity and reducing passenger queues. Future improvements, such as more Self Check-in kiosks and E-Gates, were also highlighted. Zakaradze emphasized collaboration and responsiveness to airline concerns to ensure smooth airport operations.
