- a 27,000-square-meter taxiway,
- an 85,000-square-meter cargo apron with six aircraft parking positions,
- a 77-meter-high air traffic control tower,
- and complementary facilities.
TAV Airports CEO Serkan Kaptan said: “We have been successfully operating Esenboğa Airport, the gateway of our capital Ankara to the world, since 2006. Esenboğa reflects the future-oriented face of our Republic with its modern architecture, which we built and commissioned at the time by bringing domestic and international terminals under one roof. During this period, we have increased passenger traffic by nearly four times and continue to work, in cooperation with our stakeholders, to increase the number of direct international flights. In addition to being the center of international relations and politics, Ankara is a tourist attraction with its surrounding cultural heritage and serves as a transportation hub for Anatolia.”
Ankara Esenboğa Airport, the gateway of Türkiye’s capital to the world, has been operated by TAV Airports since 2006.
With the tender held in December 2022, TAV Airports’ operating period was extended until May 2050, and a comprehensive investment program for the airport’s development was launched.
Under the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) program conducted by Airports Council International Europe (ACI EUROPE), Ankara Esenboğa Airport became Türkiye’s first carbon-neutral airport and the first to receive Level 4+ certification.
In 2025, direct flights were operated from Ankara Esenboğa Airport to a total of 79 destinations, 46 of which were international. In the same year, the airport served 13,987,298 passengers.
