TAV achieves portfolio-wide Airport Carbon Accreditation
The Ohrid and Almaty airports operated by TAV Airports have been accredited under the ACI EUROPE Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) programme. As a result, all airports in the company’s portfolio are now certified within the programme. Meanwhile, Milas-Bodrum, Tbilisi, Skopje and Batumi airports have achieved higher accreditation levels under the ACA programme.
All airports operated by TAV Airports, are now accredited under the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) programme run by ACI EUROPE. Under the programme, Ohrid Airport achieved Level 2 accreditation, while Almaty Airport received Level 1 accreditation. Tbilisi and Skopje airports, previously accredited at Level 2, and Milas-Bodrum and Batumi airports, previously accredited at Level 1, advanced to Level 3 after meeting the required criteria.
Serkan Kaptan, CEO of TAV Airports, said: "We are working with determination towards our goal of making all airports we operate carbon neutral by 2030 and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 at the latest. With the inclusion of Almaty and Ohrid airports, all airports in our portfolio are now accredited under the Airport Carbon Accreditation programme, which independently assesses airports’ efforts to manage and reduce carbon emissions. We see environmental responsibility as an integral part of operational excellence. While four of our airports have already reached carbon-neutral status, we aim to increase this number through investments in renewable energy and energy efficiency. By working together with our stakeholders, we will continue contributing to the aviation industry’s efforts to combat climate change."
The current ACA accreditation levels across TAV Airports’ portfolio are:
Level 4+: Ankara Esenboğa Airport
Level 4: Enfidha-Hammamet International Airport
Level 3+: İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport, Antalya Airport
Level 3: Milas-Bodrum Airport, Tbilisi International Airport, Batumi International Airport, Skopje International Airport
Level 2: Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport, Monastir Habib Bourguiba International Airport, Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport, Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport
