TAV Airports at 25!

This year TAV Airports marks its 25th anniversary. Since the opening of the new terminal at Istanbul Atatürk Airport on January 10, 2000, the company has grown from serving 9 million passengers annually to welcoming 107 million passengers across its 15 airports in eight countries today.

To celebrate this milestone, a special event was held at the headquarters, bringing together executives, including those who have significantly contributed to TAV Airports’ success over the years.

In the past three years, the company has executed the largest investment program in its history, amounting to €2.5 billion. With this strong foundation, TAV Airports is well-positioned for continued global expansion in its next 25 years.

TAV OS expands to Far East Asia with Narita Airport Lounge

TAV Operation Services has marked its first presence in Far East Asia by partnering with WAI Lounge Japan Inc. (WAI) to operate the new Turkish Airlines Lounge at Narita International Airport.

The inauguration ceremony on February 5, 2025, was attended by key executives, including Franck Mereyde, Chairman of the Executive Committee and Executive Board Member of TAV Airports; Aude Ferrand, CEO of TAV Operation Services and CCO of TAV Airports; Yuki Onishi, CEO of WAI-TAV Airport Services; Ahmet Tuğcu, Turkish Airlines’ Japan Director; and Ümit Develi, Deputy Vice President of Sales for Asia and the Far East of Turkish Airlines.

Disseminating ethical culture: Anti-Corruption Day

On International Anti-Corruption Day, we reaffirmed our commitment to combating corruption during an event held at the HQ, which was broadcast live to the entire TAV Airports group.

The event began with opening remarks from Can Alptekin, TAV Airports' Head of Audit, Risk, and Compliance, followed by a video message from Franck Mereyde, TAV Airports Executive Board Member & Chair of the Executive Committee.

Fikret Sebilcioğlu, Managing Partner at Cerebra, shared his insights in a session titled "Findings of the ACFE 2024 Global Fraud Report." He then moderated a panel discussion on "Risks and Opportunities," featuring Burcu Geriş, Deputy CEO & CFO of TAV Airports, alongside Can Alptekin.

The event concluded with closing remarks from Serkan Kaptan, CEO of TAV Airports.

Green Airports Seminar at Almaty

TAV Airports, Groupe ADP and Almaty Airport sponsored and hosted the Regional Seminar on Green Airports, organized by ICAO and ACI EUROPE at Almaty Airport, with the support of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport and the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan.

The seminar was opened by Talgat Lastaev, Vice-Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan. Speakers included TAV Airports CEO Serkan Kaptan; Nicolas Rallo, ICAO Regional Director for the European and North Atlantic (EUR/NAT) Regions; Saltanat Tompiyeva, Chairwoman of the Civil Aviation Committee of Kazakhstan; Catalin Radu, Director General of the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan; and Olivier Jankovec, Director General of ACI EUROPE.

Over the course of two days, experts from governments, civil aviation authorities, EUROCONTROL, airport operators, airlines, financial institutions, and sustainable fuel suppliers exchanged insights, discussed strategies, and shared best practices to advance a more sustainable aviation ecosystem.

Kerem Öztürk among Fortune Türkiye's Top 50 CTOs Airport

TAV Airports CIO and TAV Technologies GM, Kerem Öztürk, has been recognized among the Top 50 Chief Technology Officers by Fortune Türkiye. This award honors technology leaders for their success in technology and digitalization projects. He received the recognition at the Technology Leaders Awards Ceremony, which celebrates executives driving innovation and shaping the future of technology.

Meet Dino, the Skopje Airport Zen Dog!

As part of TAV Macedonia’s efforts to create a welcoming atmosphere, Skopje Airport introduces Dino, a Golden Retriever helping passengers relax before their flights. Travelers can now de-stress by petting and playing with their new furry friend.

Additionally, passengers can enjoy live music performances by a chamber trio, enhancing the airport’s ambiance and overall travel experience.

Development efforts at Tbilisi Airport

The Arrivals terminal at Tbilisi International Airport has expanded its immigration zone, and the number of passport control booths has increased from 9 to 13. The space leading to the border control booths has also expanded from 640 m² to 925 m².

It is worth noting that the Departure terminal has also expanded its immigration zone from 180 m² to 530 m², and the number of passport control booths has increased from 9 to 13.

TAV Georgia has invested over 4 million GEL in both projects.

TAV Tunisie expands tourism partnerships

TAV Tunisie marked a significant milestone at Enfidha-Hammamet International Airport by reinforcing its touristic partnerships and expanding connections to new destinations. The event highlighted the airport's achievements and progress in air traffic development, aligning with the national strategy for advancing air travel and tourism in Tunisia. As part of the celebration, TAV Tunisie signed partnership agreements with TUI Airlines Ireland, the Chinese World Tourism Cities Federation, the Tunisian travel agency Konooz Travel, and the National Office of Tunisian Handicrafts (ONAT).

ATU Duty Free has won 2 Bronze and 1 Silver Award with its Tip Story Micro Learning Project

ATU's Tip Story Micro Learning Project, which is used to support the development of product knowledge of employees in Old Bazaar stores, has been honored with three awards at the prestigious international platforms Brandon Hall and Stevie Awards. Tip Story Micro Learning Project received Silver award in the ‘Best Advance in Education Delivered Through Technology’ category at the Brandon Hall Technology & EdTech Excellence Awards, Bronze award in the ‘Achievement in Learning Technology Implementation’ category at the Stevie Awards for Great Employers, and Bronze award in the ‘Best Learning in the Flow of Work’ category at the Brandon Hall HCM Excellence Awards.

Havaş wins “Big Thinking” Award at 2025 CX Awards

Havaş received the “Big Thinking” award in the Employee Experience category at the 2025 CX Awards – Customer Experience Awards for its “Contact Center Cloud Transformation” project, which has been in use since March 2024.

The transformation project reengineered contact center processes using the cloud-based Genesys system and advanced speech analytics tools. These AI-supported enhancements have improved operational efficiency, increased employee engagement, and contributed to a more effective customer experience.

This recognition follows last year’s award for the Aerobot chatbot application.

  • Lanseria International Airport has launched the Tap and Fly program, powered by TAV Technologies, to enhance passenger convenience and streamline airport operations. This innovative system integrates e-Gates, Travel Document Authorization System (TDAS), and the Common Use Passenger Processing System (CUPPS) for a seamless travel experience. As the turnkey solution provider, TAV Technologies delivered the software infrastructure and e-Gates, creating a fully integrated system.
